Little Rock (LR) Athletics will induct five new members to the Trojan Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday, Feb. 1, during Hall of Fame weekend festivities. The department will further honor the inductees, Karen Aston, Bill Ballard, Mike Morrison, Chastity Reed, and Sara Wikstrom during halftime of the men’s basketball game as part of the doubleheader at the Jack Stephens Center on Saturday.
Aston, a 1987 graduate, played for LR women’s basketball for two seasons before entering into coaching. She currently coaches the University of Texas, having most recently reached the Elite Eight in 2016.
Ballard worked as the Trojans’ head basketball coach from 1961-1965 and led the creation of the LR baseball program and served as its first coach.
Morrison, a 1968 graduate, played for the LR men’s golf team for three years and notched All-American seasons in 1967 and 1968. He passed away in 2010.
Reed, a 2011 graduate, played for LR women’s basketball and won the Sun Belt Player of the Year Award in 2010. Still the program’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder, Reed played for the Tulsa Shock and Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA, as well as teams in Israel, Romania, Lithuania, and Switzerland.
Wikstrom, a 2009 graduate, holds the program record for most rounds of golf competed in for women’s golf, as well as the lowest scoring average. Further, Wikstrom won eight individual titles, among the top-25 in Division I golf history.
