Veterans who served during the Vietnam War will be honored during a ceremony at the Jack Stephens Center Thursday morning.
The event recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War and is part of a nationwide commemoration authorized under the 2008 National Defense Authorization Act to honor veterans who served during the war. The ceremony is organized by the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs, the Governor’s office and various Veterans groups, working in conjunction with UA Little Rock.
Governor Asa Hutchinson will be honoring over 1,200 veterans at the commemoration ceremony, which begins at 9 a.m.
UA Little Rock’s Office of Military Student Success is helping to coordinate the event, and is looking for student volunteers. If you are interested in helping with this event, you can call the Military Student Success Center at 501-682-8387 for information.
