Little Rock (LR) swimming and diving team placed third out of six teams at the Little Rock Invitational in the Donaghey Student Aquatic Center Saturday morning.
The Trojans ended the day with a total of 569 points, behind Incarnate Ward and Oklahoma Baptist, but beating out Henderson State, Rhodes, and the Ozarks.
Senior Samantha Gray made a splash as LR’s only diver of the meet, placing in the top two in both of her events, Gray was first in the 3 meter dive and second in the 1 meter dive.
Senior Tori Fryar showed off her endurance abilities this weekend, coming in first place in the 500 and 1000 free, the two longest distance events of the meet. Sophomore Claire Bristow also showed off her freestyle skills this weekend, placing in the top three in both of her events, coming in right behind Fryar for third place in the 500 while finishing second in the 200 free, just two-tenths of a second behind Incarnate Ward’s Ziata Demchenko.
LR’s relay teams also did a great job this weekend, coming in third place in both the 200 medley and the 200 free relays, with a two second difference between them and the first place team in the free.
The Trojans’ next meet will be at Saint Louis on Nov. 3 in the St. Louis vs UALR, LU-Belleville meet.
