Little Rock loses ‘Trojan’ war

Troy bested the Little Rock (LR) volleyball team in four sets at the Trojan Arena in Troy, Ala., on Saturday evening.

Troy (9-16, 3-7 Sun Belt) had four players who tallied double-digit kills, including Logan Page and Savannah Moore, who had 13 each. Page also had seven blocks. Bethany Cullity logged 12 kills and 18 digs, which led all players. Saragrace Wilson added 16 digs.

Kiara Barrett had 33 assists for Troy, while Reina Terry had 20.

LR (7-16, 3-8) claimed a close third set, 27-25, to avoid elimination. Troy won its sets by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-20.

Veronica Marin had 16 kills for LR, along with three blocks. Marina Avram had 13 kills and 10 digs, leading the team in the latter category. Daisha Gillard led the Trojans with five blocks, while Mya Robinson had four. Taylor Lindberg had 43 assists on the night.

LR will host Georgia Southern on Friday, Oct. 27, and continue its homestand against Georgia State on Saturday, Oct. 28. Both matches are set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
