This week, the Student Government Association approved a new associate justice for the appeals court, junior Jonathan Nwosu. The senate also passed a bill for a student listening session.
Nwosu is vice president of the International Simulations Association at UA Little Rock, which participates in Model Arab League and hosts a conference on campus for high school students.
He applied as an associate justice because he wanted to help students understand why they have gotten parking tickets and how they can avoid getting them again. Of the position, Nwosu said, “I really liked what it was about.”
The bill passed this week places a potential date, time, and location for the “Your Voice Heard!” forum: Monday, Nov. 6, from 6-7:30 p.m, in DSC Ledbetter. This forum, the bill states, is “for the purpose of gaining ideas and increasing the advocacy” of the SGA. The bill was discussed in the senate’s previous session.
