Red Wolves edge past Trojans in four sets

The Lady Trojans looked to snap a five-match losing streak against the Red Wolves in head coach Van Compton’s 58th Division I meeting against her alma mater Arkansas State Monday night.

In their first televised match of the season, LR fell short to the Red Wolves 3-1. The Trojans fell in the the first two sets before taking the third set. The fourth set loss sealed the game and dropped LR to 6-13 on the year.

Senior Marina Avram tallied 14 kills and chipped in eight digs. Setter Taylor Lindberg tallied 37 assists and eight digs, while Daisha Gillard tied her career high with nine kills. Mya Robinson had her third double-double of the season with 12 kills and 17 digs.

Little Rock will return to the Jack Stephens Center to host their annual “Dig Pink” match against division-leader Louisiana on Fri. night at 6:30.
