The Little Rock (LR) women’s soccer team was defeated 3-0 by Austin Peay (AP) on Sunday afternoon in Clarksville, Tenn.
AP (5-2) scored all three of its goals in the second half, including two from Kirstin Robertson (68’, 83’) and one from Claire Larose (49’).
The Governors had seven shots on goal during the match, while the Trojans (3-4) had five, three of which came off the leg of junior Arola Aparicio Gili.
LR goalkeeper Megan Swanson, a freshman, recorded four saves while relinquishing the three second-half goals. Swanson has logged 34 saves in seven games this season.
The setback was the Trojans’ second shutout loss of the season.
LR will return to the Coleman Athletic and Recreation Complex this Tuesday, Sept. 12 to host UAPB. Sun Belt play will begin on Sunday, Sept. 17 with a home game against Louisiana.
