The Little Rock (LR) Trojans women’s cross country team took home a fifth place finish at
the UCA Cross Country Challenge on Saturday.
The Trojans top finisher, freshman Hannah Manning, placed eighth, earning the Trojans eight points with a time of
18 minutes, 17 seconds, and nine-tenths of a second.
Freshman Vinney Sanchez gave the Trojans 11 points as she finished 11th with a time of 18:30.8. Sophomore Hunter Paul earned 16 points with a time of 18:50.7, good for a 16th place finish.
Rounding out the women’s side was senior Rebecca Solis and junior Akeia Joyner. Solis gave the Trojans
38 points as she placed 44th with a time of 21:03.2. Joyner finished 55th earning 49 points with a
time of 23:04.7.
The Trojans five runners totaled 122 points overall.
On the men’s side, the Trojans finished second overall while Trojan Isaac Lalang won the UCA Cross
Lalang took a first place finish with a time of 14:21.1.
Ragelia Araiza and Emilio Medina also had top 10 finishes with times of 15:11.7 and 15:11.9 finishing
eighth and ninth place.
Hunter Tucker and Imad Amenzou finished 18th and 19th with times of 15:38.6 and 15:43.8, respectively, earning
the Trojans 37 combined points.
Rounding out the men’s side was sophomore Tyler Davis with a time of 16:03.1, freshman Jarred
O’Connor with a time of 16:39.3, and sophomore Noah Smith with a time of 16:50.1.
The Trojans tallied 55 points overall, 33 points behind the leader.
Trojans Track will return to action Sept. 29 when they travel to UA-Fayetteville for the Chili Pepper Festival.
